Buffalo nickels were produced from 1913 through 1938 by the Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco Mints. Designed by James Earle Fraser, his initial F can be seen below the date on the obverse. Buffalo nickels are composed from .750 copper and .25 nickel, measuring 21.2 mm and weighing 5 grams.
